MOIST PACKS

Moist Heat packs are used to soften the tissues and provide relieve from pain. Instructions for use.: Boil water for ten to fifteen minutes in an open container and dip the moist pack in it . The water level should be kept up to 3/4th full of water or slightly over the top of the pack. Please make sure that container should be clean. Take out moist pack and hang it for soaking the water then wrap it in a towel adequately. Apply it on the affected area. When the treatment is complete the pack can be reheated or stored for later use. Cautioin: Please check that pack should not be too hot. During the first 5 to 10 min ask the patient for feedback and by visually inspect the skin if necessary. Adjust the layers of toweling as the comfort of the patient. During the treatment maintain the position of Moist Pack ensure that it does not product discomfort. Pack can be applied with a heavy towel. You shouldn’t use heat therapy when the injured area is bruised, swollen or the skin is broken or hot to the touch.
